CHÂTEAU SUPRÊME GRAND PALAIS 180 IN FERRIS RAFAULI BLUE WITH POLISHED NICKEL TRIM, POLISHED BRASS ACCENTS, AND A POLISHED BRASS HANDRAIL

The La Cornue Château range is an icon of the French art of living throughout the world. Ferris Rafauli reimagined the Château range to create a contemporary and sophisticated version, the Château Suprême. To create it, the designer considered and revised each element of the range to bring out its most distinctive characteristics. Ferris Rafauli is an iconic designer and artist who conceives, designs, and builds ultra-luxury homes and lifestyle creations for an elite clientele worldwide. He is a tastemaker and trendsetter in the world of ultra luxury design and is best known for seamlessly integrating timeless architecture and sumptuous interior designs.

The Château Suprême burners and French plaque by incorporate La Cornue stars, the control knobs are reeded metal and enameled metal, there is a stepped detail on the metal trim and backplates, the toe kick (plinth) is now a series of aligned and molded bars, the door fronts have been minimized and now have reeded metal and enameled pulls. The range is available in two widths and a pair of warming cupboards can be added on either side as shown above.

Château Suprême Models

Choose between the Château Suprême Grand Palais 180 or Château Suprême 150.

Château Suprême Optional Warming Drawers

A pair of Warming Drawers can be added to either model. The warming drawers are available with either a heated teppan-yaki top or a stainless steel top. The top drawer with a single drawer front is a stainless steel drawer without heat. The bottom drawer with a double drawer front is a warming drawer. Finished end panels are not an option for the Château Suprême as it is designed to be flanked by cabinets or to be installed in an alcove.

NOTE: La Cornue recommends leaving a 1/2” (12.7mm) gap on either side in order to allow enough space for moving the range.

Château Suprême Colors

One of the most striking and appealing aspects of the Château Suprême is the ability to apply any color your heart may desire to your range. In addition to custom colros, Château Suprême is available in 4 Standard Colors, about 40 Premium Colors (custom colors are in this price category with the additional cost of $2,800 for a color search), 3 Deluxe Colors, and 4 Ferris Rafauli Exclusive Colors which are only available for the Château Suprême.

Château Suprême ranges are not available in Stainless Steel, Brushed Copper, Pebbled Stainless, or Carbon Fiber, Additionally, “warm” colors including Tomato, Maize, Burgundy, Quintessential Orange, Liberte, Monza Orange, Imola Red, Le Mans Burgundy, and Brands Hatch Green are indefinitely suspended.

Château Suprême Trim, Accent, & Handrail Options

Château Suprême has two metal finish trim options, two metal finish accent options, and and two metal finish handrail options. In addition to these options, the two ID plates (identified as “Plaque” on the drawing below) can be, at no additional charge, engraved with two lines of text each with fifteen characters. Stone Standard also provides custom engraving of the ID plates for monograms and ranch brands.

Trim Options: Polished Nickel or Brushed Stainless Steel. The drawing below is shown with Polished Nickel trim. Trim refers to the molding frames around the drawers, around the oven doors, and the control doors including the knob (identified as “Handle” on the drawing below), and door pin (hinge), as well as the drip pan handles above the ovens (these are not identified on the drawing below).

Accent Options: Polished Brass or Brushed Nickel. The drawing below is shown with Polished Brass accents. Accents refer to the center knob frame, bezels, control knobs, decorative (non-working) oven hinges, oven handle accents (identified as “Oven handle” on the drawing below), lower drawer pulls (identified as “Handles” on the drawing below), warming drawer pulls (identified as “Handles” on the drawing below, and the handrail end and center supports.

Handrail Options: Polished Nickel or Brushed Stainless Steel. The drawing below is shown with a Polished Nickel handrail. The Handrail is the horizontal bar that runs the length of the range and it has accents at either end and in the middle. For an additional charge, the rail can also be wrapped in leather in a variety of colors.

Château Suprême Cooktop Elements

TWO GAS BURNERS

The front burner is 17,000 BTU and the back burner is 7,500 BTU. The thermocouple ignition system is an important safety feature which prevents gas from escaping if the knobs are accidentally turned on.

LAVA-ROCK GRILL

The linear gas burner runs front to back and its set beneath a bed of natural lava rocks. The grill is topped with an enamel coated grate.

THE FRENCH PLAQUE

The plaque gets the hottest in the center and then the heat diffuses to the edges so, instead of turning down the heat, simply move pans around the plaque to find the best cooking temperature.

INDUCTION BURNERS

These burners can go from High to Low or simmer in seconds. Energy usage is also kept to a minimum and the smooth surface makes for easy cleanup.

POWER BURNER

This 22,000 BTU burner looks the same as the standard Gas Burners, but is much larger, and employs a larger grate.

TEPPAN-YAKI

Allows for temperatures ranging from 140 degrees to 480 degrees. Searing steak or fish is no problem for the Teppan-Yaki and it maintains the heat, since it is thermostatically controlled.

Château Suprême Grand Palais 180 Cooktop Configurations

For the Château Suprême Grand Palais 180, there are six cooktop configurations. Only the configurations ending in SPE with the lava-rock grill in the center allow for the center knob.

Château Suprême 150 Cooktop Configurations

For the Château Suprême 150, there are three cooktop configurations.

Château Suprême Ovens

The Château ovens are vaulted and sealed for the perfect cooking environment. Even the glass viewing windows have been eliminated to create more even, radiant cooking. Perhaps the most important difference between the 180 and 150 is the size of the ovens. The 180 has two “large” ovens while the 150 has two “small” ovens. Compared to pro-style ranges such as Wolf and Viking, the La Cornue “large” ovens are smaller. Unless size and cost are the limiting factor, the 180 is a better choice.

The 180 has two vaulted ovens, one gas and one electric. The gas oven, with electric broiler, measures 22.6W x 19.8D x 11.8H which comes to 3.1 cubic feet. The electric oven, also with an electric broiler, measures 22.6W x 17.5D x 11.8H which comes to 2.7 cubic feet. By comparison, the ovens on the Viking 66" Tuscany Range (TVDR661) are each 3.8 cubic feet. Our showroom, the historic Roosevelt Library, has a 180 which has been in near constant operation for over five years on a standard exceeding most residential regimes. The “large” ovens have never been an issue and can accommodate large roasting pans.

The 150 has two vaulted ovens, one gas and one electric. The gas oven has an electric broiler and measures 16.8W x 9.8D x 11.8H which comes to 2.3 cubic feet. The electric oven also has an electric boiler and measures 16.8W x 17.5D x 11.8H or about 2.0 cubic feet.

Diamond Embedded Center Knob

For the 180 SPE cooktops with the lava-grill, an oversized diamond embedded center knob is an option. The knob has 28 Karats of cut colorless (D, E, or F) diamonds with clarity of “very, very slightly included” (VVS) or “very slightly included”. The diamonds are set by hand by Ferris Rafauli’s jeweler.
